What's the meaning of cage? Cage is something that contains something else, but differently to a normal container, it is to prevent it to go out. In this first material published work by me, we discuss the physical emotion we feel seeing a cage built around one of the maximum expression materials: canvas. What is the use of canvas? They are made only for one thing: to express ourselves. Covering it, denying it with black isolating tape, we don't allow it to be used for that. We prevent art to be made. This work is supposed to be seen as a photographic document, with each piece representing a step to the full closure. What the black tape is for you, for your life, depends on you. Everybody has something that blocks them from expression. And it's always different.
